1. Acceptance of Terms
By bringing your device to Tech Stop ("we," "us," "our") for repair, assessment, or any other service, or by using our website at techstop.ca, you ("the customer," "you") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tech Stop.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not leave your device with us or use our services. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our sole discretion.

2. Repair Services
Tech Stop provides repair and diagnostic services for mobile phones, laptops, tablets, smart watches, and gaming consoles. Our services include but are not limited to:
- Screen and display replacement
- Battery replacement
- Charging port repair
- Back glass replacement
- Water damage treatment and cleaning
- Board-level microsoldering and motherboard repair
- Data recovery
- Gaming console repair and deep cleaning
- Laptop repair including screen, keyboard, and RAM/SSD upgrades
Tech Stop is an independent repair shop and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Apple Inc., Samsung Electronics, Google LLC, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft Corporation, or any other original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
Service Refusal
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service on any device at our discretion, including but not limited to devices that are excessively damaged, previously repaired by third parties in a manner that makes safe repair impossible, or devices that we determine cannot be repaired to a satisfactory standard.
3. Estimates & Pricing
All prices listed on our website, in-store materials, or communicated verbally are estimates only. Final pricing is confirmed after a physical inspection of the device. We will always communicate the final price to you before commencing any repair work.
- Diagnostic assessments are provided free of charge with no obligation to proceed
- If a device requires additional repairs beyond the original scope, we will contact you for authorization before proceeding
- Prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are inclusive of applicable taxes
- We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time without prior notice
In some cases, particularly with water damage, board-level repairs, or complex motherboard issues, a firm quote cannot be provided until diagnostic work has been completed. We will inform you of any diagnostic fees before commencing such work.
4. Customer Authorization
By leaving your device with Tech Stop, you:
- Confirm that you are the rightful owner of the device or have authorization from the owner to have it repaired
- Authorize Tech Stop to perform the agreed-upon repair services
- Confirm that the device is not reported stolen and is not subject to any legal hold or investigation
- Accept responsibility for ensuring your device is backed up prior to service
- Acknowledge that you have been informed of the estimated cost and turnaround time
โ ๏ธ Tech Stop reserves the right to require proof of ownership or identification before accepting any device for repair. We may refuse service if ownership cannot be established.
5. Warranty Policy
Standard Warranty
All completed repairs carry the following warranty coverage from the date of pickup:
- Screen replacements, battery replacements, and standard component repairs: 30 days
- Motherboard and board-level microsoldering repairs: 30 days
- Software-related services: 14 days
- Water damage treatment: No warranty โ outcomes cannot be guaranteed due to the unpredictable nature of liquid damage
- Deep cleaning services: No warranty on pre-existing damage
Warranty Coverage
Our warranty covers defects in parts and workmanship directly related to the repair performed. If a covered defect occurs within the warranty period, we will repair it at no charge.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Physical damage, including new cracks, drops, or impacts after repair
- Water or liquid damage occurring after repair
- Damage caused by unauthorized repair attempts by third parties after our service
- Normal wear and tear
- Software issues, viruses, or data loss unrelated to the repair
- Damage caused by use of incompatible accessories or chargers
- Pre-existing conditions not related to the repair performed
- Issues arising from the customer's failure to follow device care instructions
Warranty Claim Process
To make a warranty claim, return the device to Tech Stop within the warranty period with your original receipt. We will inspect the device and determine if the issue falls within warranty coverage at our sole discretion.
6. Data & Privacy
Tech Stop respects your privacy and the security of your personal data.
- We do not access, copy, transfer, or share any personal data stored on your device
- We strongly recommend that you back up your device before bringing it in for any repair
- Tech Stop is not responsible for any data loss that may occur during the repair process, regardless of cause
- In rare cases, certain repairs (such as motherboard replacements or factory resets) may result in data loss โ we will inform you before proceeding with such repairs
- We may collect basic customer contact information (name, phone number, email) for service and communication purposes only โ this information is never sold to third parties
โ ๏ธ Back up your device before bringing it to us. Tech Stop accepts no liability for data loss during repairs.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Tech Stop's total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific repair service in question
- Tech Stop is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption
- Tech Stop is not liable for pre-existing damage to devices that was not caused by our repair work
- Tech Stop is not liable for any damage to a device that occurs as a result of the device's age, prior damage, or inherent defects unrelated to our services
- In the rare event that a device is damaged during our repair process due to our negligence, our maximum liability is limited to the fair market value of the device at the time it was brought in for repair
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Canadian law.
8. Unclaimed Devices
Devices left at Tech Stop must be picked up within 30 days of notification that the repair is complete or that we are unable to complete the repair.
- We will make reasonable attempts to contact you using the information provided at drop-off
- After 30 days of failed contact, a storage fee of $5 CAD per day may be applied
- After 90 days of no contact or pickup, Tech Stop reserves the right to dispose of, recycle, or sell the device to recover costs incurred
- Tech Stop accepts no liability for unclaimed devices after the 90-day period
9. Parts & Components
Tech Stop uses a combination of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and high-quality aftermarket parts depending on availability and customer preference.
- We will inform you of the type of parts being used before commencing any repair
- OEM parts may be available at an additional cost upon request
- Aftermarket parts used by Tech Stop are quality-tested and are not inferior in function โ however, they may differ slightly in appearance or performance from OEM parts
- Tech Stop is not responsible for any incompatibility between third-party parts and manufacturer software updates that occur after the repair
- Original parts removed from your device during repair remain the property of Tech Stop unless otherwise agreed in writing
10. Payment Terms
- Payment is due in full upon completion of the repair and before the device is returned to the customer
- We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, debit, and e-Transfer
- Devices will not be released until full payment is received
- Deposits may be required for certain repairs, particularly where expensive parts must be ordered in advance
- All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- Receipts are provided for all completed transactions
11. Refunds & Returns
Please refer to our full Return & Refund Policy for complete details. In summary:
- Refunds are not provided for completed repairs where the service was performed as agreed
- If a repair fails within the warranty period due to our workmanship, we will re-repair at no charge
- Diagnostic fees are non-refundable if the customer chooses not to proceed with the repair
- Parts ordered specifically for a repair that cannot be returned to our suppliers are non-refundable

Tech Stop is an independent repair business and is not affiliated with, authorized by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Apple Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Google LLC, Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, Microsoft Corporation, Nintendo Co. Ltd., or any other original equipment manufacturer.
All brand names, logos, and trademarks mentioned or displayed are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for the purpose of identifying the types of devices we service. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those companies.
- iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and Apple Watch are trademarks of Apple Inc.
- Samsung and Galaxy are trademarks of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
- Google and Pixel are trademarks of Google LLC.

13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta, Canada.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms shall remain in full force and effect.
14. Changes to Terms
Tech Stop reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website at techstop.ca/terms.html. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
